Hearts & Minds Group today announced that, following approval by the Boards of the respective entities, the investment management for the Third Link Growth Fund will transfer to Hearts & Minds Investments and the Fund will be renamed the Hearts and Minds Australian Equities Growth Fund.

‍

Third Link and Hearts & Minds share many of the same founding principles: bringing together leading investment managers, harnessing their expertise to generate strong outcomes for investors, and using investment success to create meaningful and sustainable philanthropic impact for the community.

‍

The addition of the Fund is an important step in the development of the broader Hearts & Minds Group, expanding its investment offering into Australian equities while preserving the characteristics that have defined Third Link for the past 18 years. The transition is expected to broaden the Hearts & Minds investment platform while increasing the Group's long-term ability to generate funding for medical research.

‍

Established by Chris Cuffe AO in 2008, the Third Link Growth Fund is a long-only Australian equities fund-of-funds. Since inception, the Fund has delivered investment returns of 9.22%[1] per annum and donated more than $25 million to charity.

‍

The Fund is expected to retain its core investment proposition and continue providing investors with access to a carefully selected group of Australian equity managers. It will also continue to donate 1% of funds under management each year to charity, with future donations transitioning towards medical research organisations in line with the broader Hearts & Minds philanthropic mission.

‍

Existing investors are expected to experience a seamless transition, with no material changes anticipated to the Fund's service providers, investment managers or team. Chris Cuffe will remain actively involved as a member of the Fund's Investment Committee and as a director of the management company responsible for the Fund. The Investment Committee will comprise Chris Cuffe, Richard Howes, Charlie Lanchester and David Wright.

‍

Chris Cuffe, founder of Third Link and Chair of Hearts and Minds Investments Limited, said:

“Hearts & Minds is a natural home for Third Link. Both organisations share a commitment to bringing together leading investment managers, delivering value for investors and creating meaningful philanthropic impact. This transition will preserve the foundations that have made Third Link successful over the past 18 years while providing the Fund with the broader resources, expertise and reach of Hearts & Minds to support its next phase of growth.”

‍

Richard Howes, Managing Director of Hearts and Minds Investments Limited, said:

“Third Link has an impressive record of combining investment performance with charitable impact. We are pleased to have the opportunity to build on that foundation and to broaden the Fund’s reach.  We are grateful to Chris Cuffe for what he has built and for agreeing to transfer management of the Fund for nominal consideration in order that we can continue to pursue philanthropic objectives in relation to the Fund and ensure its long term sustainability.  We welcome Third Link’s investors, managers and team into the Hearts & Minds community.”
